Janet McLean
Cause of her death was Consumption 4 mths. General Notes: At the time of the 1861 census she was living at Clarksons Land, Coatdyke, Old Monkland. She was 31, a "deceased miner's wife" born in Old Monkland. Living with her were her children: Agnes, 11, born New Monkland, a scholar; Janet, 9, born Old Monkland, a scholar; Margaret, 7, born Old Monkland, a scholar; Thomas, 4 born Quarter and Helen, 2, born Quarter. Also living with them were Janet's brothers, Thomas McLean,24 and George, 20 both unmarried Iron Miners. Janet married James Gilmour, son of Thomas Gilmour and Janet McLean, on 30 Sep 1849 in Old Monkland, Coatbridge, Lanark, Scotland. (James Gilmour was born circa 1820, died 16th April 1860 in Quarter, Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland and was buried in Parish Church Yard, Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland.). The cause of his death was Tetanus (Lockjaw). |
