From a family reunion booklet of 1978 by Josie Durnan:

The two surviving daughters of Patrick and Catherine Durnan, Mary and Annie were well known throughout the District as skilled (and daring) horsewomen who rode side-saddle and deemed it easier to put a horse over a gate than "waste time" by opening it. Mary married Edmund Sullivan and Annie married Dick Barrat.

(Edmund John O'Sullivan was born on 27 Jan 1890 in Narrandera,,New South Wales,Australia, died on 8 Aug 1957 in Larmer St, Narrandera, , New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 10 Aug 1957 in Narrandera Cemetery, Old R/C Section A, Narrandera, New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of his death was Coronary Occlusion - hours/ Myocardial degeneration - years.
