At the time of the 1841 Census he was living in Blackwell End, quite near his brother John's family. He was recorded as 30 years old (slightly too young) and a Journeyman Mason. Living with him were his wife Frances, aged 35 and daughter Ann aged 1 month. All were born in the County.
At the time of the 1851 Census he was living in Potterspury, age 43, a widower and bricklayer. Living with him were children Ann aged 10 and Edward aged 8, a scholar. He was living next door to his brother, John.
At the time of the 1871 Census Joshua was still living in Blackwell End, Potterspury, quite close to his nephew William and his family. He was aged 64, a widower, and a Bricklayer, born in Potterspury.
Joshua married Frances Robinson on 5 Aug 1838. (Frances Robinson was born on 1 Sep 1802 in Northhamptonshire, England and died on 13 Jul 1848.)
