Their only child at that time, James, died on the voyage.

Tony,
Your request on a very wet Saturday in Auckland had me searching through
boxes in the back of my study. Quite fun!! It appears that I cannot help
you too much with your search for Alexander James Boswell. I will send y ou a
copy of my tree which your request has forced me to make!!
I note however, that I had an uncle Alexander William Boswell
There are many repeats of favourite family names. William, Charles and
James seem to be common Boswell names - so be careful!!

I have fairly good family records - some from the Boswell Society in
Auchinleck, Ayrshire, Scotland ( we visited in 1970) and also, more recent ly
(mid 1990's)from Karin and Duncan Boswell of 7 Orihau Tce, Eastbourne. Kar en
did a lot of research on the Boswell Family in NZ and ended up with very
extensive records. I think Karen has since died, but may be still worth
trying that address.

George married Dorothy Jean Hotter, daughter of James Goodson Hotter and Nellie Lind, in 1935. (Dorothy Jean Hotter was born in 1911 and died in 1985.)
