bullet  General Notes:

At her first son's birth the witnesses were James Hunter and Gn.(?) Hunter.

At the time of the 1841 Census she was living with her son John in Port Seton. She was recorded as 60 years old, born in the County and under the name Janet Hunter, which is not an unusual convention after a spouse had died.

There is a record of Janet Hunter, aged 68 years, being buried in Prestonpans on 8th June 1848. She is buried 20 feet from the North Wall and 12 feet from the East wall. The age is about right but there is no convincing evidence this is our Janet, except that she is buried with various members of the Jones family.
