General Notes: In August of 1892 he tried unsuccessfully to get the lease of the Rose Thistle and Shamrock mine. At one stage they lived in a house next to the Pioneer Park in Harrietville. Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Miner in 1892 in Harrietville, Victoria, Australia. • He worked as a Winchman in 1914 in Harrietville, Victoria, Australia. • He worked as a Council Worker. William married Margaret Ellen Phelan, daughter of Thomas Phelan and Ellen McMahon, in 1897 in Harrietville, Victoria, Australia. (Margaret Ellen Phelan was born in 1865 in Victoria, Australia and died in 1951 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia.) |
