bullet  General Notes:

Info from Kathy LAWRENCE:

Peter Lawrence Sr. 1704 wed 1st -Catherine and after she died --- THEN he wed 2nd -Agnes Benor.

His son Peter jr. born 1740 did not. ". . .he moved to the Catskill Mts. and then lived for a time in Canada with his step-father, Peter Miller. He then returned to Shaftsbury, Vermont where his nephew, Jacob Barkman was living, about three miles from Camden Valley." This is all the info I have on Peter Jr., and I haven't been able to make any headway with it.

So you see, George born 1757 is still the half-brother to John Lawrence born 1742.

(1) The family of Agnes Benner may have practiced the Anglican religion as encouraged by John Wesley. Going to NYC for a marriage seems reasonable. It is there that the first Methodist Church in America started. This was a consious choice as far as I can see. And, travelling from Vermont to NYC to do it indicates an existence of a strong position on the matter.
