John Henry Wells
(ca. 1881-1952) |
John Henry Wells
Cause of his death was Hypostatic Pneumonia, Cerebral Vascular Degeneration, Arteriosclerosis,/Hemiplegia. General Notes: John and Eva were married in England in 1912. It is not presently known whether they knew each other in Sydney but they were certainly on the same ship, the Medic, when it sailed into Plymouth, England on 12 June 1912. Perhaps they met for the first time on the ship, or perhaps they were travelling to England to meet John's parents before getting married just a few months later. Eva was 29, a Spinster and travelling in 3rd Class. Her name was recorded as "Sullivan". She was intending to live in England (which may suggest that she did know John and that they would soon be marrying there). Also travelling in 3rd Class was John Wells, aged 28, Occupation: "None". There was also an Annie C. Wells travelling, a Spinster, aged 29, perhaps she was John's sister?. They were both also intending to live in England. Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Merchant at the time of Eva's birth on 1 Jun 1914. • He resided at the time of Eva's birth on 1 Jun 1914 in Cross St, Double Bay, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. John married Eva O'Sullivan, daughter of Thomas Denis O'Sullivan ** and Ellen Jordan **, on 12 Jul 1912 in Kensington, London, England. (Eva O'Sullivan was born on 31 Jan 1877 in Corowa, New South Wales, Australia, died on 24 Aug 1960 in 19 Bathurst St, Woollahra, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 26 Aug 1960 in General Cemetery, Botany, New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Cerebral Haemorrhage, 2 hours, Cerebral Arteriosclerosis, 2 years. Marriage Notes: There is a record in Ancestry.com (from Free BDM) recording their marriage in Jul-Aug-Sep 1912 at kensington. Volume No. 1a Page No. 491 |
