At the time of the 1861 Census he was living with his parents at the Darlington Arms in Fore St, Camelford (his father's business I believe). He was an unmarried Miller (working for his father).

Eliza (named as Elizabeth) and a number of the children named as Herbert, Arthur, Grace, Tom, Frank and Eva arrived in Adelaide Australia on board the Aconcagua 23 November 1879 which had sailed from Plymouth.

After his death Probate was awarded to Sydney Ernest Arnall Solomon, grazier and Grace Reed Solomon, spinster. His Estate in the UK amounted to GBP 1,148 10s.

George married Eliza Banbury, daughter of Thomas Banbury and Grace Unknown. (Eliza Banbury was born in 1839 in North Petherwin, , Devonshire, England, died in 1907 in South Australia, Australia and was buried in 1907 in Crystal Brook, South Australia, Australia.)
