bullet  General Notes:

Emily Arnall was living with Edwards parents at the time of the 1891 Census, aged 17, born Islington, and described as their grandchild. At the time of the 1881 Census Emily Arnall (her name is spelled ARNELL) was a Pupil residing at 9 Navarino Rd, Hackney, with another Pupil and two unmarried sisters, Helen and Marion McLean who were Schoolteachers. She may have been placed here as a Boarder if her widowed father could not care for her properly.

The 1895-1909 Electoral Roll shows that an Emily Arnall and a Sarah Arnall were living at 267 Upper St, Islington. The residence was a house and shop.

By the time of the 1901 Census she is recorded at 124 Gower St, Tottenham Court in the household of the McCarthy family where she is described as a servant, a Companion Domestic. She is aged 26, born Islington. Eugene McCarthy the Head is a Physician and Surgeon and there are 4 servants in the household altogether.
