General Notes:
It appears that Agnes and daughter Henrietta travelled to the US on the Thornton arriving in New York on 27 Oct 1856. Agnes is recorded as 40 years old (when she would have been 45) and Henrietta as 12 (when she was 14).
There are strong indications that she may have sometimes used the name Rachel, and many researchers have used this name for someone that I think is actually Henrietta.
At the time of the 1910 Census Henrietta was widowed, 68 years old, and living in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. Her birthplace and that for her father and mother is recorded as Scotland. She is recorded as having had 9 children, of whom 9 were still living. Living with her was one of her sons, "Ellick P" believed to be "Alex P"., 26, single, born Pennsylvania. Also living here was a nephew, also named Ellick T., probably also Alex aged 40 and single, born Pennsylvania with both of his parents born in Scotland. Both "Ellicks" were working as coal miners.
In the 1920 Census she is living with Alex P and his family in Fulton St Coaldale. This record says she immigrated to the USA in 1857.
Henrietta married John McIntyre, son of Hugh McIntyre and Agnes Brown. (John McIntyre was born on 20 May 1832 in Scotland, died on 31 Jan 1890 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, USA and was buried in Feb 1890 in Duvalls Cemetery, Coaldale, Pennsylvania, USA.)
