bullet  General Notes:

She was recorded as age 20 when she married in February 1860.

At the time of the 1901 census she is widowed and living at 85 & 86 Church St, Tranent by herself. She is 62, a grocer, born in Cockenzie.

By the time of the 1911 census Sarah had returned to Cockenzie. She was 72, an old age pensioner and a widow, born in Cockenzie. She was living by herself in Howich Cottage which was probably on or near Hawthorn Terrace since neighbouring entries on the census form relate to that street.

It appears she and George had no children as none have been noticed on any of the records. The informant on her death record was a nephew, name possibly J. Horsburgh. Her father's name was incorrectly recorded as Alexander on this document.
