bullet  General Notes:

At the time of the 1911 Census William, aged 26, was living with his father at 32 Murano St, Partick, Glasgow. He was an Ironmonger's Assistant, born Lanark, Glasgow. They shared a house that had one room with a window. Robert was widowed, aged 54, a Plumber employed in the Building Trade, born Stirlingshire.

William served in the 3rd Battalion, Scottish Rifles in WW1 and he married Eveline Nicol while at the camp in Nigg. The Scottish Rifles battalion camp was between Nigg school and Pitcalnie house (on the W side of the road) with the farm taken over for the war.

He was the informant on his brother's death record and named as Wm. H Gardiner, address: 58 maryhill Road, Glasgow.

• He worked as a Rivet Heater at the time of the 1901 Census in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland.

• He worked as a Flax Millworker (Private 3rd Battallion Scottish Rifles) at the time of his marriage on 24 May 1915 in Nigg, , Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.

• He worked as a Fire Place Builder at the time of his death on 21 Jul 1933 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland.

William married Eveline Nicol, daughter of William Nicol and Catherine Leslie, on 21 May 1915 in The Manse, Nigg, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. (Eveline Nicol was born on 13 May 1897 in 9 Castle St, Aberdeen, , Aberdeen, Scotland and died in 1968 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland.)
