• He worked as an agricultural labourer. in 1848 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

• He worked as a News Agent at the time of his death as was noted on his Death Certificate on 17 Jan 1895 in Taree, New South Wales, Australia.

George married Agnes Ann Hogg, daughter of James Hogg and Christina Campbell, on 22 Aug 1845 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. (Agnes Ann Hogg was born on 23 Aug 1823 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, died on 21 May 1900 in Cundletown, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 22 May 1900 in Cundletown, New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Heart failure & fatty deg.
