Witnesses to his baptism were George Morrison & George Little. George Morrison was also a witness at his wife, Margaret Greig's baptism.

Their marriage was recorded on 10th May 1801 when they "produced Marriage Lines dated Edin(burgh) 14th Febry 1801 declared themselves to be married persons and paid the usual dues after which their marriage was recorded".

His death is recorded in the Prestonpans Parish Register - the age is consistent with our William. He is buried in the East churchyard.
