There were no witnesses recorded on his birth certificate.

In 1874 he was working with his father driving a mill in Myrtleford, Victoria.

By 1892 he was living in NZ as he married Gertrude there. He and his wife and daughter performed across NZ as The Cadzow Family. William was a tenor, Gertrude a Pianist and Euphemia sang too. They also taught music.

In 1914-1919 at least William and the family lived at 82 Wakefield St, Westport and he was a Picture theatre proprietor.

He us buried in Plot WBC, Row 6, Area: Plan VII in Masterton.

William married Gertrude Harris, daughter of Hiram William Harris and Julia Ann Rutland, on 18 Feb 1892 in Bluff, New Zealand. (Gertrude Harris was born on 23 Apr 1867 in Big Bush, Blenheim, New Zealand, died on 20 Aug 1930 and was buried in Aug 1930 in Archer St Cemetery, Masterton, New Zealand.)
