Walter Adolph John Flecknoe

   Other names for Walter were Adolphus and Cliff Flecknoe.

  General Notes:

He was deceased "several years" before his wife who died in 1942 according to her death certificate and her obituary. However I have not been able to locate a death record in Victoria or NSW. Many people in Ancestry.com have 1942 as his death year with no corroborating evidence whatsoever. I suspect they got the date from this website and have just copied it.

He is not recorded as living with his wife in censuses from 1919 onwards and she was working from then on, suggesting that either they were separated or he was deceased. As their (apparently) last child together was born in 1914 it appeared possible that he may have died in WW1 (although he would have been relatively old) but he does not appear to have served in WW1. I have not located him in any Australian Electoral roll records.

Walter married Catherine Agnes Sullivan, daughter of Thomas Denis O'Sullivan ** and Ellen Jordan **, on 18 Mar 1892 in Narrandera,,New South Wales,Australia. (Catherine Agnes Sullivan was born on 7 Jun 1871 in Corowa, New South Wales, Australia, died on 20 Jun 1942 in Base Hospital, Horsham, Victoria, Australia and was buried on 22 Jun 1942 in Horsham Cemetery, Horsham, Victoria, Australia.). The cause of her death was Aortic Aneurism 1 yr/ Syphilis ? yrs.
