Isabel Smith

  General Notes:

According to her Marriage record she was from the Parish of Arbuthnott. This is supported by the fact that her marriage was also registered there on 17 Jul 1779. There was a David and a James Smith in Arbuthnot having children at about the time Isabel would have been born, but there is no record of her birth there. David had a daughter named Elspet, born 1733 and Isobel also named a daughter Elspet.

There was an Isobel Smith baptised 12 April 1758 in Fetteresso parish, father William Smith.

Isabel married John Napier, son of John Napier and Anne Hutcheon, on 7 Jul 1779 in Kinneff & Catterline Parish, Kincardine, Scotland. (John Napier was born in 1751 in Kinneff & Catterline Parish, Kincardine, Scotland and was christened on 6 May 1751 in Kinneff & Catterline Parish, Kincardine, Scotland.)

There is is also a record of their marriage at Arbuthnott Parish dated 17 Jul 1779. Isabel is listed as from that Parish on the Kinneff & Catterline record.
