bullet  General Notes:

At the time of the 1871 Census Margaret was living at a place called Forsyth's Land in Cambusnethlan, Lanarkshire. Curiously her surname is recorded as "Forsyth", she was recorded as Married, aged 34 and "Supported by Family". Peter was not living there on that day, but that description is intriguing, as is the use of the maiden surname. Living with her were her sons, George, aged 13, a Miner born in Stane, Lanark; and Livingston, aged 11, also a miner born in Stane. Living nearby was Alexander Forsyth, perhaps her brother, aged 29 with wife Janet and daughter Catherine aged 2.
