James Cowie
(ca. 1720-) |
James Cowie
General Notes: Son William is described as their 10th child on his baptism record so there are a few missing between 1749-1763. At that time James is described as from the Parish of Shotts. I have not been able to locate the other children yet. Noted events in his life were: • He resided at the time of children's baptisms from 1744 to 1749 in Alderston nr, Bothwell, , Lanark, Scotland. • He worked as a Workman according to daughter Marion's Baptism Record on 4 Nov 1744 in Alderston nr, Bothwell, , Lanark, Scotland. • He worked as a Workman according to daughter Janet's Baptism Record on 9 Feb 1746 in Alderston nr, Bothwell, , Lanark, Scotland. James married Elizabeth Muir, daughter of Robert Muir and Bethea McGoun. (Elizabeth Muir was born on 19 Feb 1721 in Bothwell, Lanark, Scotland and was christened on 19 Feb 1721 in Bothwell, Lanark, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: Several of their children's Baptism records records Janet as James' "spouse" indicating they were married, but no record has yet been found. |
