  General Notes:

Mary wrote to the Army on 18 June 1916 seeking details of the hospital her brother Laurie was recuperating in, having received a cablegram that day saying he had been wounded and lost a leg. She received a response 4 days later indicating that they did not have that information but he could be contacted by writing to him c/o his Battallion. Mary wrote again on the 18 March 1917 seeking information as to his recovery and the name of the Hospital. She received a reply 2 days later indicating they did not know the details, but that if they did receive any further information they would notify Laurie's next of kin, his father.
