Jack served in the AMF in 1940 and was given the Service No. NX16717. His war service record has not yet been accessed, but he was a P.O.W. in Italy. When Italy surrendered he was shipped off to a P.O.W. camp in Germany and was a prisoner until the end of the war in 1945. His service history records his name as John Joseph Donavon-Faulkner.

John married Rose Doris Sullivan, daughter of Michael Francis Sullivan and Rosetta Munro, on 23 Nov 1929 in Narrandera,,New South Wales,Australia. (Rose Doris Sullivan was born on 17 Mar 1910 in Narrandera,,New South Wales,Australia and died in 1982 in New South Wales, Australia.)
