Announcements from unidentified newspaper The death occurred in Wagga on the 10.10.1936 of a very old and highly respected resident of the district Mr. John Monaghan of Marrar aged 84. He followed farming pursuits in the Marrar district for many years until a few years ago he retired & lived privately - he is survived by two daughters Mr. M. Moloney and Mrs. P. King of Melbourne. The funeral is today at 11 o'clock from J. C.McDonald's parlour……
The funeral of Mr .John Monaghan of Marrar, who died in Wagga on Monday at the age of 84 years took place yesterday afternoon. The cortege which was a very large and representative one testifying to the respect and esteem in which Mr. Monaghan was held, moved from Mr.C. McDonald's funeral parlour Wagga at 11 O'clock.. The internment took place in the Catholic portion of the Wagga cemetery, the Rev. Father P. Gahan of Coolamon officiating at the graveside. The coffin was carried to the grave by Messrs. P. Maloney, Kevin Stapleton, E. Connolly, J. Gaynor, Phil. Langtry, and L. Quinn which the pall bearers were Messrs. T. Keogh, O. Bradley, A. Anderson, W. Miller, A. Armstrong and T. E. Jobbins. The chide mourners present were Mrs. M. Moloney of Marrar and Mrs. P. King of Melbourne (daughters) Martin Moloney (son-in-law), and Misses. Margaret and Mary Moloney (granddaughters). Among the many friends at the grave were Mr.& Mrs. P. Landtry, Mr. W. Robert, Mr and Mrs. W. Miller, Mr. E. Connolly, Mr & Mrs Foley, Mr & Mrs Murphy, Mrs. T. Gaynor, Mr. Kevin Stapleton, Miss Queenie Stapleton, Messrs. A. Anderson, J.W. Armstrong, T. Keough, Lou Fury, Mrs. T. Quinn, Messrs. Leo Quinn, J.
