Peter McCall
General Notes: It's possible he died around 23 July 1918 during WW1. There is a Service & War Returns record at Scotlandspeople, where his age is recorded as 19 although he would have been 18 years and one month old. His cause of death was "Died of wounds, Killed in Action". There is also a record at Ancestry.com of a Peter McCall, born Govan, Lanark being Killed in Action on 23 July 1918. He was a Private in the King's Own Scottish Borderers, 7/8th Battalion. His Service Number was 32471. The Commonwealth War Graves website records that he is remembered in the Soissons Memorial at Aisne, France. I have not yet been able to locate any records which might prove that he was our Peter. |
