Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Servant. Edward married Mercy Chittenden, daughter of James Chittenden and Elizabeth Adams, on 10 Dec 1792 in Monkton, , Kent, England. (Mercy Chittenden was born in prob England, died in 1826 in Kent, England and was buried on 8 Oct 1826 in Chislett, Kent, England.) Marriage Notes: "Edward & Mercy were married by licence. From the early sixteenth century, people intending to marry were able to avoid the inconvenience of banns by obtaining a marriage licence. To obtain a licence, one of the parties, normally the bridegroom, had to make a formal statement called an allegation, including an oath that there was no lawful impediment to the marriage.
