  • Marriage (1): Robert Cardwell on 12 Sep 1861 in The CofE Parsonage House, Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia
  • Died: 29 Oct 1880, Hospital, Gipps Ward, South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia aged about 40
  • BuriedFem: 1 Nov 1880, New Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

bullet   Cause of her death was Extra Uterine Gestation/Exhaustion.

bullet  General Notes:

On her death certificate her parents are recorded as "Richard Adams, Gentleman, and Mary Adams formerly Hogan" So the mother's name is different to that appearing on her marriage certificate. Also her husband is recorded as "Joseph Cardwell" and her marriage occuring at Beechworth when she was 25. However, her husband was Robert Cardwell and they married when she was 21 at Yackandandah.

The date of Harriet's death is recorded on Robert's second marriage certificate and only one Harriet Cardwell died on that day. There is no record of a Harriet Adams marrying a Jospeh Cardwell in Victoria. It is perhaps relevant that the informant of Harriet's death was the Hall Porter from the Hospital - not a family member - who may not have had the correct information about her.

bullet  Noted events in her life were:

She resided at the time of her marriage on 12 Sep 1861 in Yackandandah, , Victoria, Australia.

Harriet married Robert Cardwell, son of Thomas Cardwell and Ann Payne, on 12 Sep 1861 in The CofE Parsonage House, Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia. (Robert Cardwell was born circa 1835 in Loughgall, Armagh, Ireland, .)
