   Cause of her death was Extra Uterine Gestation/Exhaustion.

  General Notes:

On her death certificate her parents are recorded as "Richard Adams, Gentleman, and Mary Adams formerly Hogan" So the mother's name is different to that appearing on her marriage certificate. Also her husband is recorded as "Joseph Cardwell" and her marriage occuring at Beechworth when she was 25. However, her husband was Robert Cardwell and they married when she was 21 at Yackandandah.

The date of Harriet's death is recorded on Robert's second marriage certificate and only one Harriet Cardwell died on that day. There is no record of a Harriet Adams marrying a Jospeh Cardwell in Victoria. It is perhaps relevant that the informant of Harriet's death was the Hall Porter from the Hospital - not a family member - who may not have had the correct information about her.
