Agnes Murdoch **

   Another name for Agnes was Agnis.

  General Notes:

There is only one Agnes Murdoch baptism record at Scotlandspeople in Stirling between 1650-1670. There is however a daughter born to Archiballd Murdoch and Janet King and baptised 23 June 1669 in Gargunnock, Stirling. Unfortunately the side of the page where her name was written has been destroyed. Some researchers say she was born 1668 in Stirling, Stirling to parents John Murdoch and Agnes Mar but I am yet to sight any convincing evidence, including a baptism record for this Agnes.

I cannot locate a marriage record for John and Agnes.

There is a record of an Agnes Murdoch marrying John Miller in Gargunnock (where her parents were married) on 30 Apr 1678. Agnes and John Laird did not start having children until (as far as I can determine) Robert in 1687 when Agnes was a relatively old 29 years. Perhaps she had an earlier marriage? There is a burial record for a John Miller in Slammanan in 1684 so it's conceivable this was he. John Miller and Agnes appeared to have had no children as far as I can tell.

Agnes married John Laird **. (John Laird ** was born circa 1665 in Scotland.)
