Mrs. ELLEN MARA. It is with regret that we record the death of another very old and respected resident of the district in the person of Mrs. Ellen Mara, relict of the late Mr. John Mara, of Snakes Valley, who predeceased her some six years ago. The late Mrs. Mara, who had been ailing for some time past, succumbed to an attack of heart failure at a quarter to 12 on Saturday evening last, at the ripe age of 87 years. Deceased, who was a native of Golden, Tipperary, Ireland, accompanied by her late hus- band arrived in Australia some 55 years ago, and after a short residence at Armi- dale and Bolivia, took up their residence at Snakes Valley, where she continued to reside up till the time of her death. The late Mrs. Mara is survived by seven children'97three daughters and four sons'97the eldest being 61 years of age and the youngest 46, for whom the deep- est sympathy will be felt in their bereave- ment. The funeral took place yesterday, and was largely attended, the remains being interred in the local cemetery. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. J. T. Ulaney, while the funeral ar- rangements were in the hands of Mr. T. Clarke.
