Adam and Livingstone were twins.
Adam and his family emigrated to the US arriving in Philadelphia on the Marchioness of Clydesdale on 30 June 1852. Arriving with him were wife Helen, 39 and children John, 16, a miner, George, 13, Robert, 11, James, 9, Colin, 7, Adam, 4, and Grace, 2. He has descendants there and in NZ. He apparently died in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. It's possible his brother Alexander died there too. His other brother James and his family also travelled to the US on the same voyage.
Noted events in his life were:
• He worked as a miner when he emigrated to the USA on 30 Jun 1852.
Adam married Helen Lattie on 4 Mar 1832 in Shotts, Lanark, Scotland. (Helen Lattie was born circa 1813 in Scotland.)
