She was commonly known as Dorothy or Dorry. Dorothy is believed to have married someone named Cavanaugh as one document records her name as "late Cavanaugh". It's possible this was one Andrew Cavanaugh who died at Ballina in 1927. Ballina is not too far from Emmaville and a 1927 death fits with other episodes in Dorothy's life, recounted next.
Between the years of about 1929 to 1939 Dorothy lived with Harry Soley, a bookmaker at times, with whom she had 3 children. Their birth certificates all record their surnames as Soley but so far no marriage record has been found for Harry and Dorothy.
After the death of her husband Mathew Fitzpatrick, Dorothy lived in various suburbs in Sydney, and finally in Seaforth in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney.
