His death certificate records that he was born in NSW, but with no other details. However, a number of other researchers have him born in Victoria, which would seem to fit with the timeline of his siblings births. I haven't been able to find a record in either state. neither his nor Ellen's birthplace or parents names are recorded on their marriage certificate.
