John Connelly
Another name for John was John Connolly. General Notes: John arrived in Australia on 7 January 1861 aboard the British Trident. He was travelling with his sisters Judith (Julia Ellen) and Eleanor (Ellen). The girls were recorded in the lists of single females, and John in the list of single males. Judith was aged 19, Eleanor just 15 and John 17. Judith and Eleanor were listed as Farm Servants from Land, Cavan. They were Roman Catholic and could not read or write. John was a Farm Labourer from Kingscourt, Cavan, Roman Catholic and could not read or write. Noted events in his life were: • He emigrated to Australia on the "British Trident" on 7 Jan 1861. • He worked as a Farmer in 1870 in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Australia. John married Mary Kearney on 31 Mar 1870 in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Australia. (Mary Kearney was born in Kilcoran, Ballylooby, Cahir, Tipperary, Munster, Ireland, died on 22 Jun 1910 in Doctor Nose's residence and was buried on 24 Jun 1910 in Tenterfield Cemetery, Tenterfield, New South Wales, Australia.) |
