Ronald Francis Lewis 35155 served with the RAN before joining the Army 26071 in the Korean War.
Ronald signed up with the RAN, Service No. 35155, on 2 July 1943 and assigned to HMAS Cerberus for training with the rank of ordinary Seaman II. He was 5' 61/2" tall with fair hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion. During his war service years he served on the HMAS Bathurst and the HMAS Mildura and spent time at the HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Penguin and HMAS Platypus (submarine) bases. He left the RAN on 13 June 1946 as a consequence of the demobilisation after the war ended. However, within a year he had signed up again, serving until 29 June 1949. He later joined the Australian Army, Service No. 26071, and served in Korea.
Ronald's three brothers all served in WW2 as well. Two of them were POW's, his brother Wallace died as a POW in Japan.
