It may be relevant that their marriage entry doesn't state "in this parish" as many of the others do. He was possibly born to John Wyllie, shoemaker, and Agnes Muir 16 Sept 1781 in Kilmarnock.

I have been unable to find any children born to this couple in Kilmarnock, or anywhere else in Scotland. They may have neen part of a non-conformist Church, of which there were several at this time. In 1839 around 40% of the population of Kilmarnock were non-conformists.

• He worked as a Weaver according to daughter Margaret's death certificate.

• He worked as a Shoe manufacturer according to daughter Robina's death record.

John married Mary Campbell on 24 Jul 1803 in Kilmarnock, Ayr, Scotland. (Mary Campbell was born circa 1780 in prob, Kilmarnock, AYR, Scotland and died before 31 Jan 1891.)
