Ezekiel Ernest Hocking

   Cause of his death was Pulmonary Tuberculosis, many years.

  General Notes:

According to his death certificate he spent 3 years in South Australia before moving to Victoria.

His death certificate records that he was buried at the Bright Cemetery, although he died in South Yarra in Melbourne, at his sister Elizabeth's house. However, he rests at the Harrietville cemetery with his wife and two children. His Memorial Stone at Harrietville Cemetery reads:
In Loving Memory Of / our dear Father / EZEKIEL HOCKING / Died 20-7-1923 / also our dear Mother / MARGARET / died 19-2-1947 / and / NELL / died 18-12-1925

Nell was the first wife of Ezekiel's son, Ezekiel.

His death was reported in The Argus on Monday 21st July 1924:

IN MEMORIUM: - HOCKING - In loving memory of our dear son and brother, Ezekiel, who
passed away at Hawksburn on the 20th July, 1923. Gone, but not forgotten. (Inserted by his loving mother and sister.)

The cause of her death was Cerebral Haemorrhage, 4 days / Mitral Stenosis / Auricular Fibrillation / Senility.

  Marriage Notes:

It was a Presbyterian ceremony conducted at a house belonging to a Mr Luskie (perhaps, the name is hard to read). Witnesses were Mary Jones, James Russell Clarkson and John Bromley.
