General Notes: Agnes had the misfortune to lose her father in Africa in 1915 when she was just 18 years old, her brother Cyril was killed in France in 1917 as was her new husband Clarence in September 1918 just six weeks before the War ended. Agnes married Clarence Victor Rietschel, son of Heinrich Johann August Rietschel and Elizabeth Ann Bone, on 28 Apr 1917 in Christ Church, Brunswick, Victoria, Australia. (Clarence Victor Rietschel was born in Mar 1892 in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia, died on 28 Sep 1918 in Ronssoy, Picardie, France and was buried in Sep 1918 in Templeux-le-Guerard Communal Cemetery Extension, Templeux-le-Guerard, Somme, France.). The cause of his death was Killed in Action, WW1. Agnes next married Leonard McGeorge Crayford, son of Nicholas Gil Crayford and Eleanor McGeorge, in 1924 in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia. (Leonard McGeorge Crayford was born on 1 Apr 1897 and died on 25 May 1966 in Parkville, Victoria, Australia.) |
